Last Saturday (1 December) the 16th edition of the Dutch Oranjebal (Orange Ball) took place at The Brewery in London to raise money for the War Child charity.
Events agency Connecting Venues worked with a committee of volunteers in planning and executing this production.
The evening started off with a welcome by Ambassador Laetitia van den Assum, for whom this was the first public appearance since her appointment as Ambassador of the Netherlands in London. Presentation was partially done by Dutch A-lister Lieke van Lexmond and the radio DJ Jens Timmermans on behalf of 538 for War Child, who impressed guests with his personal film report from Sierra Leone.
During the evening an auction, together with the sale of chocolate letters and a raffle, raised over £14,000.
After dinner the party kicked off with SHE Band and with DJ’s Jens Timmermans and Lucash behind the turntables.
“It’s fantastic to be part of this successful initiative,” says Managing Director of Connecting Venues, Denise Zijlstra. “Looking at the entire production and after the many positive reactions, I think we have certainly set a standard for the future.”
