International Confex has signed an agreement with the Local Authority Event Organisers Group (LAEOG) that will see the association bring its annual general meeting to the exhibition.
The move will see a further boost in local authority event organisers at the show, and an extension of Local Live, the event’s local authority programme on the last day of International Confex and Live Experience.
Local Live will include two speaker sessions tailored towards organisers of Local Authority events. In addition to an investigation into the possibilities of hybrid, there will be an interactive session featuring a debate on the future of events in local authorities.
“Local authority events are an increasingly dynamic sector of the event industry and one which is enjoying a renaissance on the back of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations and the 2012 Cultural Olympiad,” says Group Event Manager of International Confex, James Samuel. “We’re delighted to be working with LAEOG on Local Live and are looking forward to welcoming their members to International Confex.”
Andy Grove, Chair of LAEOG, adds: “Our members are increasingly pressurised for time and resource so we’re delighted to be working with International Confex to host our AGM and provide expert education while at the show. Our members are keen to learn, find new solutions and share ideas with the private sector and International Confex is the forum to make this happen.”
International Confex will take place 19-21 March 2013 at Excel London.
