ACC Liverpool has confirmed that the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) will return to the convention and exhibition complex in 2015 for its annual conference and again in 2016 for the European Region of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy.

Each event is expected to attract 800 delegates, including 400 international delegates at the 2016 European conference, which will be its first time in the UK.

CSP has held four conferences at the venue, home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, from 2009 to 2012, attracting a total of 3,500 delegates and generating £3m in economic benefit to the Liverpool city region.

“We’ve built up strong relationships with the ACC Liverpool team over the past five years,” says the Head of Advertising and Events at CSP, Steve Mann. “Delegates love coming here and we feel like we are supported by the whole city during each visit.

“We first came to the convention centre before it opened in 2008 and we knew immediately that it was exactly what we required. When it came to us submitting a tender for the European event, we put ACC Liverpool forward as our preferred venue.”

The European Region of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy has previously taken place in cities including Vienna and Berlin.

The announcement comes following this year’s event, held in October, which consisted of a conference and trade exhibition and brought together physiotherapists, students and support workers to update knowledge and to share experiences.
