The independent five-star Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington has experienced record revenue for its conferences and events sector hitting just under £4m, the highest figure reported by the hotel in five years.

The results follow the completion of a £45m refurbishment at the hotel, which saw the creation of ’The Palace Suites’, a space designed to host conferences and events. The redevelopment work has also improved the in-room facilities aimed at business travellers, with features including Media Hubs with HDMI, Wi-Fi and flat screen televisions in all rooms.

“The opening of The Palace Suites this year has given us a versatile option for our clients, allowing us to cater for a range of both large scale and residential events,” says Sales and Marketing Director at the Royal Garden Hotel, Mark Anderson. “This, combined with our high service levels and the fact that we are an independent hotel, gives us greater flexibility over many of our chain hotel competitors.”

During 2012 the hotel hosted the Worldhotels’ Global Annual Conference, as well as multi-national manufacturer Indesit and the 120 winners of its ’Indesit Football Talents’ competition. The hotel was also selected by global electricity company Aggreko to provide corporate hospitality for its staff and clients during its role supplying primary power during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
