The long awaited Leveson report into the culture, practice and ethics of the press will be published at 1.30pm on Thursday 29 November. The written report will be laid in both Houses of Parliament and Lord Justice Leveson will then make an on-camera statement about his findings at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre immediately after publication.
Sue Etherington, Commercial Director told CN: “We are delighted to be chosen to be the venue for next week’s Leveson Press Conference. Hosting this high profile meeting confirms the relevance and importance of the centre for high profile events of national and international significance.”
Press and public have been invited to attend the televised statement, but Lord Leveson will not be taking any questions.
The QEIICC was the venue for the announcement of the Leveson inquiry in Britain’s phone hacking scandal back in July 2011.
The Westminster Government-owned centre was also the venue for the Chilcott inquiry (Iraq).
