Conference News is proud to announce it is supporting the Meetings Industry Association’s mia-List 2013 as the initiative’s media partner.
The mia-List recognises 10 meetings and events industry people each year, deemed to be among the most hardworking, enthusiastic and inspiring by their colleagues. Nominating a deserving colleague is free.
Entries will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges, who will create a shortlist of 20 finalists from which the final 10 will be chosen.
The mia-List is revealed each year at a celebratory lunch attended by leading industry figures. This year, it will be hosted by Central Hall Westminster on 22 April 2013. As well as Conference News, the mia-List is supported by and in partnership with The Meetings Show UK, which takes place from 9-11 July 2013 at Olympia, London.
Jane Longhurst, MIA Chief Executive said: “The relationship between the MIA and Conference News has existed for several years, so I welcome the opportunity to develop it further with the mia-List.
“We’re proud to say the publication has supported the progression of AIM, playing a key role in helping to establish the accreditation as the industry standard, and now this new development has strengthened the relationship further.
“We look forward to spring 2013, when in conjunction with the mia-List 2013 being revealed, Conference News will carry an AIM venues supplement, further raising the profile of AIM and the venues that have it.”
CN Managing Editor Paul Colston also welcomed the new partnership: “The mia-List has proven to be a real ‘People’s Awards’, with a track record of recognising industry commitment, talent and hard work,” he said. “CN is pleased to be invited to participate as media partner and looks forward to showcasing some of the best achievements and talent in the industry in its 2013 reports.”
As part of the agreement, a Conference News video editing team will produce a video of the 20 shortlisted candidates for the mia-List 2013, and a shortened edit of the video, featuring the final 10, to be shown at the mia-List celebratory lunch and posted online.
