Coventry conference and exhibition space Ricoh Arena has appointed a new Business Development Manager, Jayne Nightingale.

Nightingale’s first international stint at representing the venue will be at Reed Travel Exhibition’s European meetings show, EIBTM, in November with Ricoh Arena’s Commercial Director Laurie Dalrymple.

Nightingale was previously a Key Account Manager for Groups, Events and Meetings at the Hogg Robinson Group and has also been an Events Co-ordinator at Standard Chartered Bank and National Account Manager at Virgin Atlantic.

She will be responsible for driving new business via corporate account, agency development and associations, as well as managing the sales team on a day-to-day basis at the Coventry venue.

Ricoh is spending £3m in opening 38 more bedrooms at its on site hotel in January to take the total number to 121 as well as installing a new hotel booking service.

“To create further event space, we are also adding sliding glass doors to the Legends Lounge suite to add more conference and exhibition space which is another significant investment,” says Nightingale.

“The opening of the train station at the Ricoh Arena towards the end of next year is another positive factor,” she adds.
