Event management agency Drpgroup has joined forces with EcoEvents to offer a new poster, created to give companies a simple, cost effective route map to achieve sustainable event practices.
The Sustainability Action for Venues and Events (SAVE) poster depicts a route map of the journey that companies can follow to take action to better their business, and comes with guidance notes on ‘How to Choose Your Sustainability Representative’ to enable companies to choose the right person to drive their programme.
EcoEvents Director, Sam Wilson, said: “SAVE is a response to the recent increased awareness in our industry and the need to take action in order to meet growing requirements to evidence permance.
“We have been working with large organisations for a number of years to help them achieve certification, but I wanted to assist the smaller companies too. Most cannot afford the services of a consultant, while others may not want to achieve certification, but they still need to manage their operations and maintain legal compliance.
“The SAVE poster has been created to give all organisations, big or small, a route map; a way of starting their sustainability journey that’s measurable and achievable. We didn’t want to be prescriptive, but instead give companies an affordable, do-able action plan; a tool to do it their own way, to suit their own business model and brand.”
Dale Parmenter, Group Director of Drpgroup and Vice Chair of Eventia said: “We have created an engagement tool that brings strategy to life. The poster has been designed to be complimentary to ISO20121 certification through a step-by-step journey that visually declares a commitment to take action.
“Client requirements are increasing every year so the industry needs a managed approach to meeting them, and to deliver the evidence that policies have been not just supported, but contributed to.”
