World Travel Market (WTM) has introduced a Speakers Corner for this years event, as part of its Responsible Tourism Day Programme, sponsored by BBC World News.

On 7 and 8 November WTM has invited 13 industry professionals to speak out on responsible tourism.

The quick-fire speeches will last a maximum of 10 minutes each, spaced evenly throughout the two days, and will take place in easily identifiable WTM Speakers’ Corner areas in the Asia Pacific and the Europe, UK and Ireland regions.

Speeches include ’Tanzania: how a tourist attraction can help poverty reduction’ by Chrispin Joseph Beer-Sheba, Executive Director at Kushiland Expeditions and Tours Sris; and ’UK: educating clients to act responsibly; outlining work of the International Porter Protection Group’, by Sarah Allard, Co-owner and Operator at Lost Earth Adventures.

WTM Speakers’ Corner has been introduced for the first time this year due to the popularity of WTM World Responsible Tourism Day, where many delegates expressed an interest in speaking at the responsible tourism seminars and debates.

WTM Speakers’ Corner is designed to help encourage education, inspiration and debate on year-round responsible tourism activity.

The WTM Speakers’ Corner schedule will be listed in on site publications such as the WTM Catalogue and WTM Route Planner at Excel London, and is also on the WTM Responsible Tourism Day website and WTM websites. WTM 2012 takes place 5-8 November.
