Event management agency, Zibrant, is helping clients with Strategic Meeting Management Programmes (SMMPs) to reduce their meetings spend by up to 20 per cent using its web-based portal for meeting planners, according to MD of Global Operations at Zibrant, Chris Parnham.

Zibrant’s Application Portal (ZAPP) is a client-facing portal for meeting planners to plan, book and manage their own events, travel and accommodation while a dedicated Zibrant team administers and supports the bookings ’behind the scenes’. It also features a spend reporting tool.

Hosted by Zibrant, ZAPP can be used anywhere with internet access, with no software installation costs.

“Clients can save up to 20 per cent on their meetings spend by using ZAPP to manage their SMMPs,” says Parnham. “Plus they are saving on the relative cost of ZAPP compared to other Request For Proposals (s) tools on the market, in the region of £100,000 per clients, per territory. The tool represents a competitive and strategic alternative for clients considering an IT led meetings solution.

“By using the tool to manage their own event logistics, and based for example on managing 2,000 delegates per year, using ZAPP would generate a further saving of £60,000 in fees,” he adds.

Barclays Bank was one of the first Zibrant clients to adopt the ZAPP tool last year. Chris Barlow, Operations Manager, says: “Migrating the entire venue-find process to one online solution carries many benefits: a direct ’two way’ link between client and supplier; a mass reduction in email and telephone traffic; 100 per cent tracking ; plus the ability to instantly pick up any individual’s work from a geographically-spread multi-user team.”
