Macdonald Hotels and Resorts, which claims to be the UK’s largest privately-owned hotel group, has invested in BDRC Continental’s VenueVerdict and Meetings Benchmark Tracker programmes.

The hotel group hopes that these independently-assessed conference delivery programmes will test the effectiveness of its enquiry handling techniques and benchmark this feedback with competitors in the meetings and conference sector. The programme also processes feedback from event hosts to gain a benchmark for conference service and product delivery.

The decision to invest in the new programmes comes in a year where the hotel claims to have seen an increase in its conference business by 15 per cent since April 2012.

“As a market leading hotel group, Macdonald Hotel and Resorts is firmly focused on the quality of its product and service delivery,” says Operations, Sales and Marketing Director at Macdonald Hotels and Resorts, Ruaridh Macdonald. “This is underlined by our decision to join BDRC Continental’s VenueVerdict and Meetings Benchmark Tracker programmes, ensuring we consistently deliver in our promise to provide the highest standards within the corporate and conference sector.”

The hotel group is continuing to invest in its meeting product with  plans to further improve Wi-FI capability with an investment of £750,000 across hotels to further improve the Wi-FI infrastructure, speed and delivery.
