The one-day event, held 29 October at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in London’s Chelsea Harbour, is entitled ‘Opportunity in Change’.

“The GTMC is delighted to have secured the Minister of Transport Simon Burns MP, to speak at our London conference, especially so soon after his appointment in the recent reshuffle,” said GTMC Chairman, Ajaya Sodha. “The GTMC policy is firmly behind aviation expansion in the South East and in the interests of speed a third runway or mixed mode flights at Heathrow. The Government has launched the Davies Commission on aviation capacity and we will be looking for the Minister to provide some more detail on this and what can be done in the short-term to assist business.”

Travel industry speakers and panelists include the Chief Commercial Officer of Expedia, Dhiren Fonseca; the CEO of KDS, Dean Forbes; the Sales Director for Avis Budget UK, Oliver Woodmansee; the Executive VP Global Sales at Wyndham Hotel Group, Ross Hosking; and the Senior VP of industry distribution and financial services IATA, Aleks Popovich.

The conference is open to GTMC members’ representatives and GTMC supplier partners.

Founded in 1967, the GTMC is made up of a range of travel management companies, from the world’s largest multiple to small independent specialists and from major London-based organisations to top regional agencies. Of the top 50 UK TMCs, 36 are GTMC members.
