TFI Group has appointed Simon Maier as its new Managing Director with a remit to drive forward the company’s vision for future development, including corporate acquisitions and international expansion.

Previous General Manager William Jeavons left the company in April after four years at the helm.

Until now he was the board director responsible for development and will now lead TFI across all areas of operation. TFI Group, founded in 1981, is a specialist conference, event and marketing communications agency and works with a wide range of corporate and association clients.

Maier, who has had a distinguished industry career at several agencies, including Grass Roots Group and Jack Morton, said: “We have a fantastic opportunity to further develop the TFI Group brand and business in the years ahead, and I am delighted, and honoured, to have been given the chance to lead such a good team.

“TFI’s mission is to help clients engage with their audiences. We fully understand the value of events within that engagement and are good at helping deliver events that match to client objectives.

“We want to add more to our offer and will deliver the full events circle for our clients, rather than, for example, event management and logistics alone. We have identified a need for additional services where the client can benefit from our co-ordinated management of quality and delivery. This could well involve acquisitions and also international expansion.”

Peter Franks, TFI Group Chairman and founder, said: “I’m delighted that someone of Simon’s vast experience has agreed to lead the business. The next three or four years will see huge growth and changes in the events market, and we too are growing carefully and modestly to match, and stay ahead of, client needs. Such growth needs a good and steady hand on the tiller. It also requires robust planning and skilled leadership.

Simon will provide all of these attributes. He’s also enormously creative, both from a corporate point of view and also in how we can shape and build the business.”

Simon Maier takes up the post with immediate effect.
