Birmingham Based The Ticket Factory (TTF), national ticketing agency and official box office for the National Indoor Arena (NIA), LG Arena and the NEC, has restructured its commercial team and appointed a new Commercial Director.

As the new Commercial Director, Peter Monks (currently Assistant General Manager of TTF) will take overall responsibility for new business growth and development and will lead the Business Development, Marketing and Client Services functions.

The new structure includes the creation of three new positions, which TTF believes will help it capitalise on new business opportunities.

“Our ticketing business is booming and in order to continue to expand we are investing heavily in business development,” says GM of TTF Will Quekett. “We also need to make sure that our key operational teams are focused on supporting business growth.

“Consequently we have created a new senior position, Commercial Director, and will shortly be recruiting a new Business Development Manager and Business Development Executive.”

Monks has worked with the NEC Group for 14 years, starting his career at the International Convention Centre Birmingham. He joined the sales team for the National Indoor Arena and LG Arena before moving to the then NEC Box Office in 2005.

“I was heavily involved in our re-launch from an inhouse box office to a national ticketing agent in 2007 and I am looking forward to building on this success and expanding the Business Development team to further enhance our national inventory of concerts, show and events,” says Monks.

Part of the NEC Group, TTF was formerly known as the NEC box office. The Birmingham based ticket agent sells over 2.5m tickets per year for a variety of comedy, concerts, sporting events, exhibitions and theatre shows UK wide, and has doubled its turnover in the last three years.
