The Britain for Events campaign has received a seal of approval from David Cameron backing its work for the industry.

In a letter sent to the campaign, the Prime Minister “applauded the work carried out by the UK events industry and in promoting Britain”.

The PM is the latest in a number of ministers within the Government to support the UK event industry’s promotional campaign. These include Nick de Bois MP, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Events and John Penrose, Minister for Tourism and Heritage.

The campaign is hosting the briefing ’Events in the Community’ at the House of Commons on 5 September. More than 20 MPs along with government policy makers are expected at the event.

“Once again we thank the PM for his endorsement of the campaign and the UK events industry in general,” said Britain for Events spokesman, Michael Hirst. “This year has seen constant praise for the quality of our industry, yet more than ever we need the support of government at both a local and national level.”

Britain for Events launched its latest campaign in July, with more than 100 events industry professionals and representatives from UK Sport, the Tourism Alliance, destination management companies and UK Border Agency at Savoy Place, London.
