Carol O’Reilly is set to leave the Liverpool Convention Bureau in September 2012. She says she will become semi-retired and as part of the move is to also step down from her role as Meetings Industry Association (MIA) Destinations Group Chair.

O’Reilly
has been the bureau’s Convention Bureau Manager since 2007 and played
an instrumental role in helping to set up the Liverpool Convention
Bureau, relocating to Liverpool to fulfill the role.

Former
Conference Manager, Kate Currie (pictured), will step up to the post as Interim
Convention Bureau Manager. She has been with the bureau for four years.

In
her five years with the bureau she has established a range of
convention bureau services including accommodation booking, social
programme planning and a delegate welcome programme for key events.

“Having
been with Liverpool Convention Bureau for a number of years I have been
privileged to see the city develop into a leading destination, win many
accolades and add many hotels and venues to its portfolio,” says
O’Reilly. “I feel the time is right for me to move on and know that Kate
will continue to be a valuable asset to the bureau and the city”.
