A new show aimed at the luxury lifestyle, travel and events market is launching at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea next year.

Luxury Show London will debut from 1 to 2 May 2013. New event company, Luxury Shows is the organiser and says it aims to showcase hotels, resorts and venues to buyers and intermediaries in the meetings and incentive (MICE) market.

The show will feature a seminar programme focused on innovation, plus networking events within the gallery space, as well as at establishments across Chelsea and nearby Kensington and Belgravia.

Visitors will enter via a diamond or platinum ticket, which exhibitors can distribute to prospects and clients and will include benefits such as refreshments, entry to seminars and invitations to the events around the show.

Show founder Ian Dockreay (pictured) says he hopes to help exhibiting companies find partnerships among participants and develop new marketing opportunities.

“We believe this will be an ideal marketplace for the industry to develop new business relationships in this relatively buoyant part of the market,” he said.

Fully-fitted designer suites will enable exhibitors to ‘pitch-up and promote’ their products and services to a hand-picked audience. Luxury Shows expects to attract 3,000 buyers to the two-day event.

Although the luxury sector has shown resilience in the face of current economic challenges, companies are still looking for more cost-effective ways of promoting their offering, Dockreay claims.

“With this in mind, the Luxury London Show has eliminated many of the higher costs normally associated with exhibitions,” he adds.

“In most cases, all an exhibitor will need to bring is a memory stick for the TVs and iPads for presentations to their visitors as we aim to keep paper to a minimum.”

The suites will cost £9,800 (plus VAT) or as a shared space for £5,800 (plus VAT).

Dockreay, who spent 25 years in senior marketing and event management positions at American Express, British Airways, Emirates and Virgin Atlantic, founded the Business Travel and Travel Technology Shows and relaunched the Business Travel Awards.

He is joined by director Craig Bingham, whose career highlights include opening two London  hotels: The five-star deluxe resort The Grove, and the four-star Riverbank property in Westminster. He also worked for Hilton International and formerly ran his own business promoting hospitality brands internationally.

Former Pegasus Solutions manager and member of the Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association, John Seaton, completes the management team on Luxury Show London.
