The skies finally cleared for the Conference News Summer Party at The British Library in London last night, 19 July, with over 220 guests, including readers and meeting industry leaders coming out to network.
Managing Editor Paul Colston announced the launch of Conference News as a pocketmag app at the event.
“Just as we were the first among the industry’s publishers to offer a digital page-turning format for our conference magazines, we are now proud to be the first to offer our content as a pocketmag app,” he said.
The current issue of CN is now available for download on Apple devices, and available free via the Apple Store. It will also be rolled out on other platforms.
Colston said Mash Media, publisher of Conference News, was continuing to focus heavily on expanding the meetings and events industry and pointed to the recent acquisitions of Access All Areas magazine and the Event Production Show.
“With conference-news.co.uk website seeing a 131 per cent increase in unique visitors year-on-year, a 1,400-strong CN LinkedIn group and 3,466 CN followers on Twitter, the portfolio is turning up the turbo. We invite all industry professionals to join us and amplify the message that ‘meetings make money’,” he added.
Centaur Exhibitions’ Meetings Show UK sponsored the evening and Event Director Steve Knight and his team promised to deliver a major new event at Olympia in July next year: “delivering business knowledge and success”.
The show, he said, “would be the only UK event offering a fully hosted buyer programme”.
Peyton Events laid on a barbecued meat selection and Sternberg Clarke provided a little magic to proceedings.
