The Hotel Booking Agents Association (HBAA) has signed another member, the University of London’s art deco event and meetings venue, Senate House.

The HBAA, formed in 1997, consists of 86 agents and 209 venue members and represents the collective interest of the parties involved in the procurement and management of conference, meetings and accommodation in the UK and internationally. The HBAA’s buying power of £2.3bn per annum makes the association one of the largest representative bodies in the accommodation, meeting and event sectors.

The central Bloomsbury venue, renowned for being London’s first skyscraper, joins the HBAA with the aim to market itself to the UK’s conference and event sector.

The Grade II listed building’s event spaces include the Court Room, which caters for meetings of up to 30 delegates and the Beveridge Hall, accommodating 450 delegates theatre-style.

“At Senate House we are dedicated to advancing the events industry and particularly looking forward to the many benefits the venue will take from the membership,” says the Business Development Manager at Senate House, Charlie Vernon.
