IT supplier for the live event sector, Etherlive, is releasing a series of guides designed to help planners negotiate their way through the growing reliance on technology for events.
Etherlive’s ’smart bITes’ will provide corporates and agents with a concise explanation of how to make the most of IT at their events via the use of simplified technology terminology.
Research carried out by Etherlive in April 2012 revealed that 46 per cent of hotels and venues are confident with the changing technology landscape, while just 27 per cent of agents felt comfortable that they understood issues surrounding Wi-Fi and streaming media demands.
“We are at a tipping point whereby IT will become an integral part of planning an event, and we want to help organisers understand the ramifications of poor planning and weak IT infrastructure,” says Director for Etherlive, Tom McInerney.
Etherlive’s smart bITes will look across the live events sector, from corporate conference, trade and consumer exhibitions to festivals and public events. The inaugural corporate smart bITe will provide venue finding agents and hotel booking agents with five simple areas to consider to ensure their clients IT exceptions are realised. These areas include IT infrastructure, bandwidth, security encryption, and internet connection speed.
