The Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) is supporting next month’s Tech Fest, and ABPCO Vice Chair Jennifer Jenkins will address delegates as part of a panel debate.
The Tech Fest event aims to encourage event organisers to embrace new technologies to enhance their events, and the panel debate will look at event Wi-Fi requirements, in addition to a range of other issues facing event planners looking to use new technologies more effectively to enhance delegate experience.
“Tech Fest is an innovative event that is addressing the current need to get a more hands on understanding of technology and how we can harness this to deliver better, more effective events for our clients,” says Jenkins. “We are pleased to support this event as we know how important it is for ABPCO members and the industry as a whole to build to build our knowledge and share best practice.”
ABPCO’s conference cloud campaign, which calls for free Wi-Fi for conference delegates, was launched in August 2011 and has gained support from venues and event organisers, with over 200 individual petition signatures and 138 venue sites showing their support for the initiative.
“Our Conference Cloud Campaign has raised the issue of the importance of free Wi-FI for delegates as the life blood of conferences and events these day; we need to build on that to explore what technologies can most benefit the delegate experience,” added Jenkins.
Tech Fest takes place Monday 18 June at The Mermaid Theatre in London and is free to attend for event planners.
