Venuemasters have released the official attendance figures for the 2012 Academic Venue Show, with 375 visitors attending the one-day event on 16 May at the Emirates Stadium, an increase of 15 per cent on the previous year.
“We are delighted with a 15 per cent increase in visitors to this year’s event. There was a real buzz on the day and the turnout shows that the appeal of academic venues continues to grow,” says CEO at Venuemasters, Terry Bilingham.
This year’s event saw 50 academic venues from around the UK showcase their meeting and accommodation facilities. The show also offered a free workshop on ’improving your negotiating skills’ and a presentation from Janet Street-Porter on ’how to build a career and succeed in business’.
This year’s winner of the ’Best Stand’ award was the University of Sussex, who based the theme of their stand around their latest marketing campaign ’The Best Kept Secret in Sussex’, which was also launched at the show.
