The Hotel Booking Agents Association (HBAA) will unveil its International Charter at the IMEX trade show in Frankfurt this week. The document will set out how overseas hotels and venues can benefit from the buying power of the UK’s most influential agencies.

The Charter covers response times to enquiries, commission levels and payment terms and has been created in response to growing demand from agencies booking outbound business. It also aims to answer the call from international hoteliers and venues to benefit from the UK corporate spend.

Peter Ducker, Executive Director of the HBAA, and Steve Ockerby, International Projects Chairman, will be hosting two of IMEX’s Lightning Learning Labs sessions under the titles: ‘How to Win Your Share of the UK Outbound Market’ and ‘Increasing your Inbound Conference Business from the UK Agency Market’.

Ockerby said: “This is a very exciting time for overseas properties to get more involved with the UK agents who place business internationally. Simply by signing up to the International Charter, properties abroad can expect to see an increased volume of enquiries, and ultimately bookings, coming their way.”
