Eco-conscious event organisers can now offset the carbon footprint of delegate travel with a new green conferencing package from the Crowne Plaza Resort Colchester – Five Lakes.
Organisers who wish to take part in the scheme will have their carbon footprint individually calculated and deducted from the total cost to go towards UK and Kenyan tree-planting projects. The four-star resort will also be planting a new tree on its golf course for every event contract over £5,000.
Stephen Mileham, the resort’s Director of Sales, said: “Sustainability is an increasingly important concern for many organisations booking conferences and events. This scheme is a simple way for organisers to address the environmental impact of their event at no extra cost.”
Situated in a 320-acre estate in rural Essex, the UK’s first Crowne Plaza Resort offers 18 individual meeting rooms which can host up to 4,000 delegates.
