The RDS Dublin will host the 19th Meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council, 6-7 December, 2012. The event is set to attract over 1,000 international delegates.
The OSCE is the world’s largest regional security organisation, with 56 participating states in North America, Europe and Asia.
The Ministerial Council is the central decision-making and governing body of the OSCE.
The meeting, held annually, provides the Foreign Ministers of participating states with an opportunity to review and assess the organisation’s activities during the past year and offer national viewpoints on security matters.
This two-day event will consist of plenary sessions along with meetings, catering and media facilities all held in the RDS Simmonscourt complex.
“It is an honour to be hosting such a prestigious event at The RDS,” said RDS Commercial Director Michele Griffin. “This event is a great opportunity for Dublin as it will bring valuable international delegates to the city and help boost the local economy. It also demonstrates the RDS’s capability to host international conferences with very specific requirements.
“The OSCE event joins other major events at the venue in 2012 including the International Eucharistic Congress in June and the Institute of Physics Conference in September.”
The OSCE delegates will be experiencing Ireland for the first time.
