Financial advisory firm Duff & Phelps has found new owners for the Clifton and Royal Hotels.
Joint administrators of ERH (Scarborough) Limited, for Duff & Phelps, David Whitehouse and Sarah Bell, were appointed 24 August 2011 and announced the sale of the venue properties was completed 19 March 2012. Both hotels were sold as going concerns.
Whitehouse said, “While trading conditions in the hotel and leisure sector in the UK remain difficult I am pleased to announce the successful sale of these two hotels. The sale to an established hotel operator will now provide certainty to both employees and surrounding businesses.”
The Royal Hotel to was sold to Ambassador (East Cliff) and The Clifton Hotel to Britannia Hotel Wolverhampton.
All employee positions have been saved in the process.
