Denise Harris, who worked on many high profile events and took an active role in the UK Chapter of Meeting Professionals International, leading on many education projects, died on 4 March after a long illness.

“Denise’s passion for education meant she was responsible for inspiring and motivating the next generation of meeting planners and she made it her mission to ensure they had the skills to deliver quality events,” said Sally Greenhill of Right Solutions, a friend and industry colleague.

“Denise brought meetings and events alive; she shared her extensive practical experience with a sense of humour and fun that had real impact,” she added.

From 1985 Denise worked for Imagination, Commercial Presentations, and HP:ICM specialising in logistics, before going freelance in 1992.

Denise also lectured part-time at Thames Valley University on their degree course in event management.

The funeral is 2.30pm, Monday 19 March, at Aldershot Crematorium.
