Reed Travel Exhibitions’ (RTE) has announced upbeat results from its work to boost its hosted buyer programme for the second edition of its Americas Meetings and Events Exhibition (AIBTM).

RTE says it has 50 hosted buyer group co-ordinators committed to AIBTM 2012 in Baltimore, 19-21 June, which surpasses 2011 final numbers with four months of the marketing campaign still to go.

AIBTM Project Director, Steve Knight, (pictured) says: “The hosted buyer group co-ordinator response for AIBTM 2012 is overwhelming, especially at this early stage.

“We already have 25 per cent more group co-ordinators signed than for the whole of last year, and we’re still in our pre-registration phase for the hosted buyer programme.

“Each AIBTM exhibitor is eligible to apply to be a group co-ordinator. The programme empowers exhibitors to ensure that the prospects they want to see are at AIBTM.”

Among the AIBTM hosted buyer group co-ordinators confirmed for AIBTM 2012 are key hoteliers like Hilton, Hyatt, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), Marriott, Melia Hotels International, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Sofitel Luxury Hotels and Choice Hotels International. Major US market CVB’s such as the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau, Meet Washington State (formerly Seattle CVB) and Visit Orlando will also bring hosted buyers.

Additionally, AIBTM’s strategic partner, the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), has committed to bring 500 hosted buyers to the event.
