claims to have created the only destination website in the US to offer
click-and-purchase travel packages as well as social media shopping
ambassadors, interactive shopping maps, and monthly ‘hot deals’.
The
new taxfreephilly.com website also has a ‘.co.uk’ version in anglicised
English to cater for 30 per cent of Philadelphia’s convention attendees
from outside of the United States.
“We know meeting and
convention attendees have limited free time, so we hope this site helps
them optimise that time,” says Jack Ferguson, President and CEO, PCVB.
“Our website is a great added feature to promote Philadelphia as a
premier shopping destination to international travellers by showing
visitors how much they can save.”
The UK version of the website
has also been translated into German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch,
and Portuguese (Brazil), and all versions will contain news and facts
about shopping in the Philadelphia region.
‘Hot deals’ are listed and cost comparisons on name brand items.

Shopping Ambassadors (originally from the UK, France and Brazil) have
been charged with blogging, tweeting, posting on Facebook, and creating
and posting videos.
“The Shopping Ambassadors are the authentic
voice that we know consumers want advice from,” said Kathleen Titus,
Executive Director of Tourism.
