International bank Santander has appointed Capita Business Travel to manage the organisation’s UK business travel requirements.
The new service, which will be run by Capita’s divisions BSI and Evolvi, is hoped to achieve reduced service fee costs alongside lower direct travel expenditure.
The appointment follows a competitive tender which took place earlier this year.
Santander says the online adoption is exceeding 70 per cent in cost reduction in just four weeks of ‘go-live’.
“Cost-reduction is a big focus for Santander, along with technology which delivers advantages to the end-user,” says Travel Manager for Santander Mark Payne. “However, organisations such as ours, with a high domestic spend profile in hotels, rail, meetings and point to point air are often not well served by generalist travel management companies in every one of these areas.”
Capita Business Travel’s Director of Sales and Marketing Services, Matt Selby (pictured), said: “Integrating specialist services allows us to offer a unique value proposition to align with travel managers’ procurement agenda. Organisations with a sophisticated understanding of their requirements are now able to gain from accountable and sustainable savings opportunities, delivered by specialists.”
The Capita Group claims to be the UK’s leading provider of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and integrated professional support service solutions. With 45,000 people at more than 350 sites, including 64 business centres across the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands and India, the group uses its expertise, infrastructure and scale benefits to transform its clients’ services, driving down costs and adding value.
