Hosted at MWB Liverpool Street, the event included food and drink from Cook and Partners.
High profile speakers included keynote Daniel Ritterband, Director of 2012 Communication for the GLA, who painted a picture of how London will look and feel during the Olympics. The Businesses Improvement District programme will ensure that businesses everywhere can touch the Games from cleverly mown lawns and sculpted topiary, lamppost sleeves, bunting, London’s bridges and waterways lit spectacularly, and even advice on the types of flowers to grow in order to display an array of red, white and blue! Teamed with projects such as Hidden London where pop-up theatre and art will animate the Capital’s hidden gems there are still plenty of surprises in store to further add to the incredible experience awaiting us next summer.
Other speakers included Jon Spencer, CEO of MWB, who urged us to think about how the Olympics will affect our business processes and resources offering the key tools to formulate a tangible strategy and ensure your business operates smoothly. Jon Lane, Business Development and Partnership Director of BT, was well placed to show us what we have learnt from Vancouver and the vast project that will see BT providing 80,000 connections across 94 locations… and 4,500m of internet cabling.
