Three Counties Showground has taken the wrappers off its newly-enhanced Three Counties Centre exhibition and events facility at Malvern Showground.

Improvements
to the site included an extension of the Severn Hall by 600sqm to
2,900sqm of event space as well as a new glass atrium, two-storey
accommodation and built-in communication system. The hall is used for a
range of events ranging from exhibitions, business seminars and
conferences to theatre-style events and film shoots.

Her
Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant for Worcestershire Michael Brinton KSTJ, JP,
opened the newly-renovated events space on 15 November and unveiled a
commemorative plague on the site. The opening ceremony was attended by
local business people, event organisers, politicians and journalists.

The
venue is run by the Three Counties Agricultural Society (TCAS).
According to its CEO Nick Vincent, the venue hire arm brings in £1m of
business annually.

“In spite of difficult trading conditions in
2010, that business has remained fairly stable and we hope to grow
income to around £1.5m in the near future,” he said. “To attract
prestigious events, we must stay in tune with more discerning customers
and upgrade facilities on a regular basis to meet their requirements.

“Our
reputation as a multi-functional centre in a beautiful location
continues to grow and the new Three Counties Centre is an
aesthetically-pleasing addition to the conference and symposium area. We
believe that it will attract new clientele, and possibly new visitors
to the region in the future, which is good for the town and ultimately
the county.”

The first event to be held in the new facility was Destination Worcestershire’s Tourism in 2012 and Beyond on 16 November.
