First UK Aloft hotel opens in London

The UK’s first Aloft branded hotel has opened in London.
 
The £41m, 252-room Aloft London Excel, operated by Starwood Resorts and Hotels, boosts hotel room capacity and events space at Excel London to 1,400. It is the sixth hotel to be connected to the Docklands venue.
 
His Excellency Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Managing Director, Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), which built the hotel, said: “The Aloft London Excel is an exciting new milestone in ADNEC’s growing partnership with London, made just in time for the city to host the Olympic 2012 Games.
 
“In the long term the new hotel will enhance Excel’s growing events calendar by providing quality, stylish and affordable accommodation. We will continue to look at more opportunities to enhance our offerings to Excel visitors.”
