The Beast from the East was no match for the Association event planning contingent at International Confex at Olympia London recently.

This year’s attendance at the one-day programme, which had its fourth outing on the opening day of the show, gathered a record number of 258 unique attendees, over twice as many as the AEF in 2017.

Quality was also extremely high with senior level representation from both in-house association planners and PCOs. Among the pack were MCI, Capita Travel & Events, AAT, Alzheimer’s Research, the Biochemical Society, Ashridge Associates and Millbrook Medical Conferences, who were universally positive about the tone and quality of the content programme.

Heather Lishman of ABPCO was also pleased to be partnering with the event: “ABPCO was delighted to be more formally involved with International Confex this time. The show organisers wanted to engage with us, as an Association, and our members to ensure that the content was spot on for their needs. The feedback was great, and we were proud to have our ABPCO name on such meaningful and relevant content. We look forward to 2019.”

Work has already started on building the Association Event Forum for the 2019 edition of Confex.

While the official call for papers will be circulated in July, the organisers welcome any thoughts, ideas and feedback in the meantime. Contact: lagostini@mashmedia.net

The Association Event Forum 2018 was brought to International Confex 2018 in partnership with the Scottish Event Campus and the Association of Association Executives (AAE).
