Compliance was on the agenda at an ABPCO round table event hosted by Victory Services Club on 27 March. The event was attended by nearly 50 ABPCO members including associations, PCOs, and partners working with the pharmaceutical and medical sectors.

Caroline Mackenzie, director of Global Association Partners led a two-hour workshop and discussion on key considerations for PCOs working within the healthcare sector.  In particular, it covered the impact of regulation on the administration and organisation of events across topics such as marketing, registration, branding and logistics.

During the event Mark Field, operations director of Victory Services Club gave a short presentation on the venue, its history and its charitable work.  He also covered the recent renovation and relaunch of its historic Carisbrooke Hall, which underwent a £1m refurbishment in 2017.

“Caroline’s content was superb. She managed to distil an incredibly complex topic into a short space of time,” commented Therese Dolan, joint chair of ABPCO. “I feel we could have talked for far longer but think all our attendees gained a huge amount of knowledge today.  One of ABPCO’s core strategic aims is to raise standards of professionalism across the meetings industry through the provision of education, training and personal development opportunities. This event firmly delivered on that.

Margaret Sherry from In Conference Ltd commented:  “I look for my membership of ABPCO to deliver knowledgeable and relevant content combined with great networking.  This event has certainly delivered. There was so much to learn and Caroline did a fantastic job of making an incredibly complex subject engaging and focused on our real life needs.”

Dolan concludes: “We originally expected around twenty people to attend this event but the numbers kept growing, clearly showing how important it is to our members.  Victory Services Club looked after us fantastically, and were particularly accommodating of the fact that our event grew from an initial 20 people to one of our largest ever round table events.”
