The Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau UK and Ireland office recently welcomed 58 buyers to its first ever MICE roadshow over two consecutive days in London and Manchester.

Buyers heard about the new offerings in the emirate, including new event spaces at Manarat Al Saadiyat, the recently opened Louvre Abu Dhabi, the new Emirati Experiences tours and Advantage Abu Dhabi opportunities, in addition to a reminder of the emirate’s 800-plus events calendar and new hotels that are due to open during 2018.

The theme of the roadshow was ‘Past, Present and Future’, which allowed buyers to be taken on a journey through Abu Dhabi, while learning about its recent and upcoming developments.

Prizes were awarded throughout the evening and delegates enjoyed their personal journey through the traditional arts and crafts of henna, calligraphy, falconry and Arabian hospitality.

Sara Al Aslai, conference and exhibition unit head at Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau, said: “Our first MICE roadshow has been a huge success, allowing us to engage with buyers keen to learn more about Abu Dhabi… We hope we’ve inspired them to hold their next event in Abu Dhabi and look forward to welcoming more delegates in 2018 and ahead.”

Angela Bates, Trade & MICE Promotion senior executive UK and Ireland at Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau, added: “Abu Dhabi is growing from strength-to-strength in the UK, thanks to the wealth of excellent venues and spaces available, coupled with our fantastic hotels across the price range, and plenty of activities to keep everyone busy during down time. Following our inaugural roadshow, we look forward to further engagement with UK event planners and more interactive opportunities in 2018/19.”
