The Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in GB&I, one of the UK’s largest women’s voluntary organisations, returns to Bournemouth for its annual conference 19-21 March 2018.

A stellar line-up of activities and guest speakers will entertain up to 2,000 delegates at the three-day conference, hosted at Bournemouth International Centre.

These include the President of International Inner Wheel, Kapila Gupta and President of Rotary International GB&I Denis Spiller. They will be joined by Britain’s first astronaut, Helen Sharman, CMG, OBE. Helen was the first Briton to journey to space and the first woman to visit the Mir space station in 1991. She now works full-time at the Department of Chemistry, Imperial College, London and frequently speaks about her experiences.

Other guest speakers will be talking on subjects including children’s hospices, medical detection dogs and modern slavery. Antiques Roadshow’s ‘Mister Jewellery’, John Benjamin, will also address delegates to talk about iconic pieces of jewellery and the women who wore them.

The social programme is just as packed with performances from local bands, a zip wire charity challenge, golf tournament at Meyrick Park Golf Club and walks taking in the local area and sights.

“We love coming to Bournemouth,” says association president Liz Thomas.

“I hope our conference will be a celebration of both Inner Wheel and women and that we learn from our speakers, share ideas and projects, make new friendships, renew old ones and have fun.”

“We are always delighted to welcome Inner Wheel back to Bournemouth,” adds BH Live’s director of venues and events, Pat Coyne.

“Their itinerary always makes the most of all that Bournemouth has to offer and we are delighted to be welcoming such an inspiring line-up of speakers and delegates to town.”

The event closes with a performance by Romney Youth Jazz Orchestra, followed by an evening of entertainment featuring dance band Old Dogz New Trickz.
