Meet Blackpool, the North-West coastal town’s conference bureau, has appointed independent PR and communications agency Rooster to promote its MICE offering following a competitive tender process.
Combining its MICE, destination PR, B2B travel and hospitality expertise, Rooster will help raise awareness of the seaside resort as an attractive conference and events destination among corporate decision-makers, event planners and the wider MICE community.
The brief will see Rooster deliver a proactive press office and media relations strategy, with a focus on content generation and spokespeople profiling via thought-leadership and case studies, as well as social media support.
This account win adds to a strong start of the year for Rooster, with multiple client wins including Trip.com, Hudson Yards New York and SPL Villas.
It builds on the continued success of managing the corporate PR for MICE destination Center Parcs Conferences & Events over the last three years.
James Brooke, managing director at Rooster, said: “Over the past three years, we’ve steadily built a strong foundation in the MICE space. Winning this tender is an exciting opportunity to continue that momentum and further expand our client base in the business events sector. We’re looking forward to working closely with Meet Blackpool to spotlight everything that makes it such a dynamic and distinctive place to meet.”
The appointment is part of Meet Blackpool’s broader strategy to drive high-profile conference and event enquiries and bookings and increase the number of delegates visiting Blackpool annually, in order to generate £2.2m for the local economy and attract further investment in the area.
Julie Vincent, head of Meet Blackpool, said: “We were impressed with Rooster’s diverse range of experience, creative campaign ideas and clear enthusiasm for our destination. We can’t wait to see what we can achieve working together over the next 12 months.”
