APPG for events launches with new chair and open corporate memberships

The All Party Parliamentary Group for Events (APPG) held its inaugural meeting of the APPG in parliament on 17 December 2024.

Shaun Davies, MP for Telford (Labour) was formally elected as chair of the APPG.

In addition, as per parliamentary rules, three further officers were also nominated and elected, who were: Jack Rankin, MP for Windsor (Conservative), David Baines, MP for St Helens North (Labour) and Gill German, MP for Clwyd North (Labour).

Also at the meeting, Davies Tanner, through its Business of Events Think Tank and Advocacy Network, was asked to continue serving as the official secretariat and special advisor to the APPG.

The necessary paperwork has been submitted to the Office of the Parliamentary Commissioner for standards to formally register the APPG in parliament, with final confirmation expected within the next 5-7 working days.

Applications for corporate membership of the APPG are also now being accepted, and further information on this can be found on the official APPG website.
