Event management specialist The Human Network, which has a presence in eight countries, has acquired Belfast-based travel management company Beyond Business Travel. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, although it is understood the Beyond Business Travel name is to be retained.
The Human Network comprises seven events agencies, bought the TMC, which also has an office in Dublin as it launches its new travel division, Human Network Travel.
“This isn’t just any acquisition; it’s the culmination of a visionary two-year passion project led by CEO, Michael Gietzen and his exceptional team,” The Human Network posted on its website announcing the news.
Beyond Business Travel was, said Gietzen, “the perfect partner as we dive into the travel industry, aiming to revolutionise it just as we have with events.
He added: “This merger is about enhancing what is already great… Together, we’re not just merging companies; we’re setting the stage for something extraordinary.”
Gietzen added the deal marked “a new chapter where we blend Beyond’s travel prowess with our event expertise. We’re ready to disrupt the conventional, innovate relentlessly, and create unmatched experiences worldwide.”
CEO of Beyond Business Travel, Edel Doherty, said: “Joining The Human Network opens new doors for us and for our clients. Together, we’ll push boundaries and redefine what’s possible in both travel and event services.”
The enhanced group said it intended to expand its services, starting with a strategic move into the US market soon. The company, which employs approximately 250 staff, said: “The integration of Beyond Business Travel not only amplifies our capabilities but also broadens our geographical footprint, ensuring we bring our unique brand of magic to even more corners of the globe. We can’t wait to embark on this journey.”
