MeetBlackpool, the north west resort town’s conference and exhibition arm, is celebrating its most successful months on record for business events, having secured a variety of wins for June and July 2024. These are events set to attract thousands of delegates.

Taking place at the Winter Gardens Blackpool and the Blackpool Conference and Exhibition Centre, the events from sectors including education, public sector, sporting and science have generated more than £956k of economic benefit to the local community.

Julie Vincent, head of MeetBlackpool said: “The cumulative impact of these events has not only boosted the local economy, but their diversity and calibre demonstrate Blackpool’s appeal as a top choice for a wide range of professional gatherings. Business events are more than just catalysts for economic impact; they serve as platforms for knowledge exchange and innovation, nurturing growth and development that ultimately benefit the lives of people in the area.”

Blackpool has seen a large investment this year with the opening of three new venues: The Backlot Cinema, the town’s newest attraction, Showtown, and the opening of the 144-bed Holiday Inn Blackpool in the heart of the town. In May 2024, the town’s first celebrity restaurant, Marco’s New York Italian, inspired by chef Marco Pierre White also opened its doors.
