Meeting and event planners were among the 850+ guests that attended the Grand Opening of Convene Sancroft, at Paternoster Square, St Paul’s in London, 18 April.
The guests were treated to an evening of food, drink and music as they inspected the 45,000 sq.ft of meetings space set across two floors.
Since Convene acquired the etc.venues brand in 2023, the Convene Sancroft holds the biggest single conference space in the group’s portfolio, with a total capacity to accommodate 1,200 guests. The Grand Hall is the largest single above-ground meeting room in City of London. It is complemented by seven meeting spaces in total at the property.
Head of product James Frankis showed CN round the new venue which was designed in partnership with architects Woods Bagot. “It’s design was inspired by the Elizabethan era and includes colonnades reminiscent of those in the surrounding Paternoster Square,” said Frankis. Floating ceiling timber rafts also show a quintessential Elizabethan diamond pattern.
Convene management, in from the US to attend the Grand Opening, said the new venue was just the start of a major development plan in the UK.
