East Midlands-based venue-finding and event management company Conference Care, recently gained its B Corp accreditation for its ongoing commitment to sustainability.
The B Corp certification, which measures a company’s social and economic impact is offered by B Lab, a US-based company. According to Conference Care, the B Corp certification is the most recognised certification a company can have to demonstrate its sustainable and good practices.
When starting the process 12 months ago, Conference Care had already established good practices with educating clients on sustainability and offering services like carbon consultancy for environmentally sustainable events. With the necessary score for accreditation set at 80, Conference Care was already ahead, starting the process with a score of 90 out of 200.
Pauline Beattie, sales director of Conference Care, said, “It’s not a matter of what we intend to do, but what we are already doing and evidencing that to B Lab.”
She added: “Joining the community of B Corp businesses allows for networking and business with like-minded companies.”
With re-accreditation every three years, the emphasis is on continuous improvement and adherence to standards. Working with clients in financial services, pharma, and purpose-driven organisations like associations and charities, Conference Care says it can still do more by supporting local communities and driving further reductions in carbon emissions.
