Events agency emc3 has announced it will host a free-to-attend sustainability focused event at BMA House.

Taking place on 23 March, the event will see industry professionals discuss whether attendees and customers are invested in making more sustainable choices, how to ensure the industry’s focus on sustainability doesn’t negatively impact people’s experiences and whether events can ever be truly, 100% sustainable.

Speakers include Philippe Homsy, co-founder, LOCI; Saskya Liney, co-founder, from now; Sam Gordon, group sustainability insight associate, IAG Group; Hannah Robinson, business development event manager, BMA House and Nat Walker, senior content strategist, emc3.

Commenting on the event, Josh King, VP of growth, emc3, said: “Our industry has a unique opportunity to contribute towards sustainable development. Alongside cutting CO2 emissions and reducing waste from our services, we can use our events, attendee experiences and hospitality to promote equal opportunities, environmental wellbeing, educate attendees and start a domino effect of change towards sustainable development.”

The agency will also compile emission data based on attendee travel. emc3 are asking its attendees how they plan on travelling to and from the event including their main method of transportation, total mileage or start postcode.

“Our partners at JUST ONE Tree will be on-site to help guests carbon balance their travel emissions. So not only will attendees be able to understand their carbon footprint, but they will be able to take action to offset it too,” added King.
