Brand experience agency Owl Live has partnered with Earthly to help it become a climate positive certified business.

Earthly is an organisation that helps companies to “protect and regenerate the Earth” through its science-based solutions, climate positive certifcations and visualisation tools.

“The Climate Positive certification shows a commitment to balancing those unavoidable emissions by going beyond to remove 100%,” commented an Earthly spokesperson.

“It’s about going beyond achieving net zero carbon emissions and creating an environmental benefit.”

Sustainability journey

To fulfil one of its sustainability goals, Owl Live will balance 114 tonnes CO2e per employee from the atmosphere. While Owl Live’s current carbon impact baseline is 103.46 t CO2e, the agency will continue to reduce its emissions before balancing the remainder by 110% – thus becoming a climate-positive business.

This will be achieved by investing in a project to maximise the agency’s postivie environmental impact. Together, with Earthly, Owl Live will invest in The Rimba Raya biodiversity reserve, which protects peatland.

By doing so, Owl Live will avoid over 100 million tonnes of carbon emissions whilst protecting 65 endangered animals and plant species.

Lauren Mucklow, managing partner, Owl Live, has been championing sustainability efforts at the agency. She said: “Change must happen now, and we are taking action. We’ve wholeheartedly focused on accelerating our sustainability efforts over the past 12 months, and with Earthly, we have a greater opportunity to make a real difference, quickly and effectively.

“We understand our industry has a high environmental impact, so we are committed to changing the future of brand experiences, starting with our own operations, and ultimately, influencing change in others – both clients and competitors.”
