One Day At Christmas, organised by specialist events industry publisher Mash Media, serves as a Christmas party for elderly and vulnerable people at ExCeL London, the NEC and Scottish Events Campus.
For one day each December, Mash Media re-creates a Christmas party for the local community who might not be able to enjoy a proper Christmas day. We lay on the traditional Christmas food and drink as well as entertainment in the form of carol singing, bingo and numerous other Christmas themed games.
Volunteers from the business events community will once more come together to put on an extra special Christmas event for lonely, elderly and vulnerable people on 5 December, but this year the event will be held simultaneously in London, Birmingham and Glasgow.
Laura Tythcott head of sales, for event supporters Whitespace Xpo, said: “When we were asked to get involved in One Day at Christmas, we leapt at the chance. As an industry, our ability to bring people together and produce amazing experiences, is unparalled, so to turn our focus on supporting some of the more marginalised members of our communities is so important to us. Whether at ExCeL, NEC or SEC we hope to help bring some Christmas spirit to everyone who attends.”
Nineteen Group, Easyfairs, Raccoon Media Group, Messe Frankfurt, Clarion Events and Diversified Communications are also amongst those to have already pledged their support.
