Elevate has launched a holistic training programme titled ‘ElevatingPeople’, designed to support and upskill its global workforce.
The programme is based on the three pillars of: sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion and mental health. It also forms part of a long term ESG strategy – ‘Elevating Purpose’.
The KPMG survey of CEO Outlook shows that recession-proofing businesses may come at the expense of furthering ESG efforts. The survey revealed: “As economic uncertainty continues, 50% are pausing or reconsidering their existing or planned ESG efforts over the next six months, and 34% have already done so.”
Why now?
The initiative began as a survey sent to gauge wellness in the aftermath of the pandemic, across both HQ and global field workforces. The results revealed a desire for self-improvement, professional development, and help with wellness.
“This sustainability strategy is all about ensuring that our commitments to the environment and our communities are embedded in everything we do. As a people business, we have a responsibility to support our workforce and effect real change through education and influence.” said Carina Filek, Global COO for Elevate.
Working together
For example, Elevate has partnered with Isla to create an industry first initiative. “The partnership provided training for its 40k field staff, empowering them to think, and more importantly act differently. The potential for impact is huge; mobilising a multi-market workforce on this scale makes a real difference,” explained Filek.
One such initiative tackles the issue of textiles waste within the events industry. Nearly 33m corporate garments are created every year but around 90% go to waste. “We are using our position to influence client behaviours, and to ensure staff behave in a way to support a remove, reduce and recycle mindset,” added Filek.
Elevate has also partnered with Identity, Smyle, The Bulb and Xquisite.
