BCD Meetings and Events (BCD M&E) is establishing its Congress Practice Area in response to an increase across life sciences organisations looking to centralise their meetings and congress activities.

The Congress Practice Area is a global service offering delivered by BCD M&E’s LSCOE. It includes a collection of teams across the organisation focused on best practices, industry trends as well as minimising attrition and cancellation costs for customers.

Commenting on the area, Ashley Williams (pictured), vice president, Life Sciences Center of Excellence (LSCOE), said: “There is a gap in spend and data when congress activity is managed outside of the overall strategic meetings programme. Bridging this gap through a global process can increase savings, mitigate risk and support overall brand strategies. The global nature of congresses makes them a natural fit for centralisation.”

Under the practice area, life sciences organisations will be able to:

  • Consolidate their purchasing of housing and congress registrations
  • Keep oversight of all corporate attendees at a single congress
  • Ensure protection of company assets in an environment with competitors present
  • Guarantee compliance with society rules and regulations regarding meetings and/or promotions

Williams added: “Life sciences organisations must trust their agency to ensure compliance across all aspects of a meeting programme.

“Our global footprint, decades of experience in the vertical and full understanding of regional and local regulation coupled with our full suite of services, aims to give our clients peace of mind and a clear view into their overall spend. We are dedicating more resources than ever before to help our clients fold their congress activity into their overall program management.”
