Conference and events venue, The QEII Centre, is asking eventprofs and members of the public to donate their unwanted or unused coats to help keep the capital’s vulnerable warm this winter.
QEII is supporting charity HandsOn London’s ‘WrapUp London’ campaign. The campaign aims to provide a coat to anyone who needs one, including the homeless, vulnerable families and refugees.
The Westminster venue has collected 3,500 coats for the charity so far by serving as a donation point in 2018 and 2019 and is calling on the event industry to offer its support for the charity again this November.
Coat donations can be dropped off to QEII from the 8 -26 November, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5.30pm.
QEII is asking event organisers to spread the word to their delegates so they can get involved and maximise donations.
When the collection campaign ends, donated coats are sorted by volunteers for HandsOn London and distributed to relevant charity partners around the capital.
Diane Waldron, director of sales and marketing at QEII, said: “We are always keen to support our local London community at QEII and HandsOn London’s WrapUp London campaign enables us to go some way towards doing that. We are proud to serve as a donation point for coats again this year and encourage event organisers, delegates and Londoners to drop their good quality, unwanted coats into the centre so they can reach those who need them the most.”

Their pledge enables a really key collection point as it will be only one in Westminster and a prime location for people living and working in the area to donate their spare warm coat.”
