Cvent, a meeting, events, and hospitality technology provider, has announced its integration with WPM Education, the higher education online payment services provider in the UK.

The integration aims to provide universities, colleges, and other educational organisations the tools they need to streamline their event planning processes and offers a secure, compliant system through which to process all event-related payments.

Cvent’s event marketing and management platform can be seamlessly integrated with WPM Payment Platform to incorporate online payment processing into an organisation’s event registration process.

The integration between Cvent’s event platform and WPM’s Payment Platform, aims to offer users a more holistic view of payments rendered for all types of events, whether virtual, in-person, or hybrid. All information is securely transferred through Cvent’s European Data Centre and in accordance with GDPR guidelines, helping organisers ensure data privacy compliance for their events.

In addition, Cvent will be the exclusive event technology and mobile application provider for WPM Education events including the WPM Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony on 20-21 April, which was hosted virtually on Cvent’s Attendee Hub platform, The WPM International Payments Summit, and WPM Payment Security Conference.

Patrick Smith, chief marketing officer at Cvent, said: “We are proud to partner with WPM Education, the leader in the higher education space, to offer universities access to the tools and resources they need to market and manage more impactful meetings and events.

“Seamless payment processing is critical, and by integrating our solutions, higher ed professionals can spend less time organising payments and focus more on engaging their students and event attendees.”

Holger Bollman from WPM Education, added: “For more than 20 years, we’ve offered the higher and further education sector the easiest, most secure way to manage and accept online payments. Given the important role of meetings and events for universities to connect with their students, engage alumni, and host charitable events, having the option to pay online is now expected by students and other customers alike.

“WPM has been working with Cvent for a number of years to deliver our own events, so we have confidence that we can work together to support the unique needs of the higher education sector.”
